CPI on Wednesday launched an indirect attack on CPM, presumably against West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and CPM general secretary Prakash Karat, stressing that there was a “need for humility and total absence of arrogance in the behaviour and attitude of all Left leaders and activists in relation to people.”
CPI sources said, “In West Bengal we have been pointing out the arrogant behaviour of Bhattacharjee during Singur and Nandigram but CPM never listened to us. We had doubts about third front also.”
This seems to be a reflection of long-felt anger of smaller Left parties against CPM as the third front idea was aggressively pushed by Karat…More

Stressing that the Left parties were serious about not having any truck with the Congress this time, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday lambasted the Congress for “failing miserably in every sector”, due to which the Left is in the process of forging an alternate Third Front with other political parties.
“Agriculture sector growth has fallen to 2 per cent; farmers are committing suicide. There has been tremendous rise in the prices of essential commodities. Moreover, the Congress is out to make strategic partnership with the US. We want an independent foreign policy. The Third Front we are trying to forge has politicians who have experience in administration. We are focussing more on programmes and policies, rather than a prime ministerial candidate,” Bhattacharjee said….More..
Buddha focuses on Third Front at Kolkata rally

With the state gearing up for the third and last phase of polls on May 13, chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is focusing more on
national politics rather than on state policies.
“Last time, we had no option but to support Congress from outside to keep away the BJP from forming the government at the Centre. But time has come when people should realise that Congress has nothing new to offer and BJP is terrible. Third Front is the right alternative,” he said.
Bhattacharjee said the Third Front, if it comes to power, would implement policies on proper land distribution, regularise the ration system, check price rise of regular commodities and stabilize the prices of products used for farming…More
