LK Advani, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate said that there is no ‘Third Front’ as such and many of the small parties would join NDA if it is in a position to form government at the Centre.

Former PM and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Sunday cited reasons for regional parties dissociating from central alliances UPA and NDA and the emergence of Third Front as an alternative to Congress and BJP.
Addressing reporters here on Sunday, Gowda said regional parties, which are aspiring to join Third Front, are only searching for medicine to treat the scars which they afflicted during their association with UPA and NDA….More..
Third Front Left heavy, feels Deve Gowda
Deve Gowda was instrumental in setting up the launch party of the ‘Third Front’ in Tumkur (near Bangalore) on March 12, 2009. For some reason he did not feel ‘Third Front’ was ‘Left’ heavy at that point of time. May be Deve Gowda feels his son may not get enough importance in the ‘Third Front’

JDS sources told Bangalore Mirror the projection of Third Front as a”people’s alternative” by Gowda could work against the party’s own image in four states and adversely affect the chances of its younger aspirants ahead of the polls.
Sources in the Kerala unit of JDS said the CPM-led ruling LDF in that state has refused to allot Kozhikode to JDS incumbent M P Veerendra Kumar, instead offering the Wayanad seat on the ground that it is the latter’s birthplace. The denial of Kozhikode has led to Kumar announcing the party will keep off from contesting the polls.

Third Front on the verge of crack in AP?
Too many cooks spoil the broth, they say. More than 10 parties all over the country have come together to form the Third Front, but there is trouble between the two main players of the Front in Andhra Pradesh.
The Telugu Desam Party and the Telangana party are having a spat over who will contest from six assembly seats.
The alliance that holds hands together well, stays together. Perhaps all this fumbling was an indication of things to come with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao driving a hard bargain with his Third Front partners in Andhra Pradesh.
The TRS wants to contest 48 assembly seats but Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP is willing to give only 42…More..
